John Wallis, may your soul rest in peace. As a 25+year friend and colleague, you brought immeasurable and immense joy to the world of model railroading.
The photo montage attached here is just a glimpse of your well lived legacy. All in all, you helped keep our trains running on time and in good order.
My humble tribute to you comes as a student and recipient of your mentorship and generosity. Together we witnessed great shows, conventions and uNcoNveNtioNs, we pushed for NTRAK 2.0 and beyond, we celebrated 50 Years of NRAIL, you invited me to spearhead the NRail Channel on YouTube and carefully navigate the roots of ZoomTRAK. You helped the Eastern N Lines anchor the Danville Rail Days as an epic annual tradition.
John Wallis will be greatly missed and not easily replaced. Yet, John’s giftedness in drafting and collating policies, procedures and best practices assures us that if we will only read and absorb the knowledge built by hard earned experience, the future of our hobby remains bright.
Thank you John for your service to NRAIL, NTRAK, T-TRAK and the entire world of N Scale Model Railroading. We all treasured your E-Christmas-Cards and the personal touches of leadership.
Your train has departed this station. I pray that if God gives us a model railroad in heaven, it will be N Scale, and you will be among its Angel-Engineers-in-Chief. Farewell good friend.
